Going Natura

Going natural was one of the biggest hair changes in my life; the next being, dying my hair bright blonde,/other blonde looking colours lol. So I now devote myself to learning new things about hair care, and everything that will promote its health and growing stages.
I didn't know a thing about maintaining natural hair, or how much work was needed to put in, in looking after it, but it soon came a familiar territory, after watching hundreds of You tube videos, and researching everything and anything.

My Hairstory

After my braid extension phases during secondary school, my next venture was weaves. It first started with adding tracks in between my own hair, then went on to doing a full head.
After having a traumatic incident with my beloved relaxer, I thought there was no better time then to start the "going natural" stage.
I didn't do the whole big chop thing, cause it just wasn't something I wanted, or felt like I needed to do. So after growing out my hair for a year, under the great protection of weaves. July 2nd 2012 I was a full natural, and I haven't looked back since.

So far my hair growth has been quite evident, but the most thing I'm happy about is it's health. My hair has become so much stronger and thicker, and I find that the natural lifestyle works very well for me.
But having stronger and thicker hair isn't only down to what I put in it, it also depends on my diet. What you put in your body determines a lot on how your hair will or won't suffer.

Here are a few before and after pictures =D

When I loved having my Braids

Weave it up baby

This was my hair after I took a break from having weave, it was a nice length but look at how thin it was

I always used heat to get the style I wanted, The first day when I would shampoo and condition my hair was the day it 'looked' it's fullest,  but it would just go back to looking thin after I applied all my products

This is after the incident of when I relaxed the edges of my hair, and didn't wash it out properly. My hair kept on breaking and breaking, and no matter what I did to keep it healthy, it didn't grow

It's hurting me to even show these pictures, but its all part of  the process

So I still didn't learn anything and I dyed my hair. If you look  at the top of my hair its so dry and horrible as I going through my transitional stage.

But that still didn't stop me  and I went on to dye it blondishy lol

I took a break from the weave and let the dye grow out a bit before I dyed it black

This is the last weave I had in my hair

And for my holiday I had to relax the edges of  my hair, so it wouldn't be puffy cause of the humidity #sigh

Yes I probably shouldn't have dyed my hair again but as I was caring for my hair a lot more, I knew that I wouldn't have an issue with it this time around.
So this is October month 3 of being natural, and my curls are defining everyday which I will show in another post, here I've just brushed it out after having it in a hairband all day
